Options for People with a Disability
It can be difficult for people with
a disability to find a place to be physically active. They can have
special needs that must to be addressed in both building design
and program planning. Variety Village has addressed both. The Village
is not only accessible but many of the staff are disabled
themselves. So they understand the special needs of young and old.
And as a Variety Village member, people with
a disability have access to all of our specialized programs and
services. All classes are designed to encourage physical activity
and self-esteem in a safe and integrated environment. Ours is
a welcoming community, where people can – sometimes for
the first time – see their abilities and not their disability.
Financially subsidized memberships are available through Variety – the Children’s Charity. Applicants must speak with one of our Membership Services Representatives and provide medical and financial information. Subsidies are based on personal circumstance.
