After School Program
Great news for grades 8 - 10 students: Variety’s After School Program begins this fall!

Along with fitness and leisure activities, which generated so much excitement during the two week pilot project in February, the following activities are in the works for the fall session:

  1. Homework Club – With help and friends, have fun but get it done!
  2. Workshops – Develop practical empowerment skills.
  3. Reality Games – Learn amazing things about yourself and others.
  4. The V2 Hangout – Grill or chill! Get answers to burning questions or share experiences at Variety’s informal forum.

Learning can be fun! Click here for more information on the program or contact Maureen at 416-367-2828 x 260.

George Gross Memorial
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to George Gross. Here at Variety, we will miss his committed and generous support of children of all abilities. When George Gross put his name to a cause, he embraced it with a passion. Variety Village was a cause near to his heart and benefitted from the rewards of his generosity for over 24 years.  Read more

Hristina, Member of Variety Village's Synchronized Swim Team
For the first time Variety Village has an athlete who is deaf on its Synchronized Swimming team.
Hristina is 11 years old, and is part of a team of girls her age who all have full hearing. She has a cochlear implant, which allows her to hear when training “on land,” but the device can’t be worn in the water. As a result, she cannot hear her teammates, her coach, or the music when she is swimming. These obstacles have not stopped her from achieving her goals.
Hristina recently competed at the Waterloo Invitational Competition, where she placed first in her routine. At the Regional Championships, she placed first and earned a spot to compete in the National Championships - an impressive list of accomplishments for an athlete who has only trained for one year.
Here at Variety Village, we are excited to see what is next for Hristina. We will keep you updated on this inspiring athlete as her Synchro career develops.
